Team and Philosophy

Fontana is owned by the Cantarero Morales family and managed by Península Vinicultores.

The Cantarero Morales family are third-generation winegrowers with deep roots in Castile and a rare commitment to long-term thinking. Over several decades, they have built the Fontana Estate, developed its vineyards and helped establish Uclés as a recognised wine origin.

Península Vinicultores brings together a highly experienced team of wine professionals, united by the ambition to contribute to a better wine world. Co-founded and led by German-Spanish Master of Wine Andreas Kubach, Península manages Fontana across viticulture, winemaking, production, marketing and sales.

Our management philosophy is based on integration, coherence and high standards. Every function is managed against international best practice, but none is considered in isolation. Vineyard decisions shape wine style; wine style determines production, positioning and route to market; commercial realities inform where investment and attention can create the greatest value.

This cross-functional approach allows us to connect decisions from vineyard to market and align the entire organisation around a clear objective: to produce wines of genuine quality, character and relevance. It combines local knowledge with international experience, technical precision with informed judgement, and long-term ambition with the discipline required to deliver consistently.

At Fontana, this work is led locally by an experienced management team:

Víctor Raso, Director of Operations

Responsible for the coordination of winery operations, production and the execution of Fontana’s plans.

Eduardo Olmeda, Director of Viticulture

Responsible for the management and continuing development of the estate and the wider network of vineyards with which Fontana works.

Tomás Buendía, Head Winemaker

Responsible for winemaking at Fontana and for translating the character and potential of its vineyards into wines of clarity, precision and drinkability.

Together, the Cantarero Morales family, Península and the Fontana team combine long-term ownership, deep knowledge of the territory and broad international experience. Our purpose is to realise the full potential of an exceptional but insufficiently understood place—and to make wines worth drinking, wherever they are discovered.
